US-Türkiye Relations Under AK Party

Since the day it was founded, AK Party has always defined its position in politics as where the nation stands and today it continues to follow the same definition. We have defined ourselves as “conservative democrats” and placed our party at the center of Turkish political spectrum. It is this approach which is continually kept alive by our nation that has made AK Party strong and has kept it standing for so many years. Since 2001, Turkey’s agenda has changed, its priorities, challenges and expectations have changed; yet, the only thing that has remained unchanged is the fact that the only party that can respond to all of these is AK Party. AK Party has achieved very important democratic reforms, alongside a high rate of economic growth and social development. It was one of the greatest achievements of the year 2017 for us that we successfully held the first elections of the new system of government that had been approved of by our people in the referendum. With the Presidential System of Government. Our political system is more stable, democracy more resilient and administration more efficient. Under the new system of government, Turkey has also managed COVID-19 pandemic quite successfully. What we have achieved since 2002 is the guarantee of what we will achieve from this day onwards including our 2023 vision and goals.
